The Koenigsegg CCX is a mid-engined sports vehicle built by Koenigsegg Automotive AB. The task began with the aim of making a worldwide car, designed and made to comply with global protection and environment laws, particularly to go into the United States car market. To sell cars in the US many alterations were made to the design of the CCR; the previously used Ford Modular engine unit was replaced with a Koenigsegg engine made to operate on 91 octane fuel, readily available in america, and to meet the Californian emission benchmarks. The name CCX is an abbreviation for Competition Coup? X, the X commemorating the 10th anniversary (X being the Roman numeral for ten) of the conclusion and try of the first CC vehicle in 1996.
The CCX was presented at the 2006 Geneva Motor unit Show, wearing body alterations to meet US regulations and a fresh 4.7 L twin supercharged V8 engine unit with the capacity of producing 811 PS (596 kW; 800 horsepower) at 7000 rpm and 920 N?m (679 lb?ft) at 5700 rpm of torque while jogging on 91 octane gas. There were 49 CCX-Series automobiles produced between 2006 and 2010 (30 CCX, 9 CCXR, 6 CCX/CCXR Release, 2 CCXR Special Model and 2 CCXR Trevita). One of them was a CCX used for Crash tests and one continues to be a manufacturer test car. CCX automobiles have later been upgraded to be CCXR-spec.
