The Koenigsegg CCX is a mid-engined sports vehicle built by Koenigsegg Automotive AB. The job began with the aim of making a worldwide car, designed and engineered to adhere to global security and environment polices, particularly to enter in the United States car market. To sell cars in america many modifications were made to the look of the CCR; the previously used Ford Modular engine motor was replaced by a Koenigsegg engine made to operate on 91 octane petrol, readily available in america, and to meet up with the Californian emission benchmarks. The name CCX is an abbreviation for Competition Coup? X, the X commemorating the 10th wedding anniversary (X being the Roman numeral for ten) of the conclusion and try of the first CC vehicle in 1996.
The CCX was unveiled at the 2006 Geneva Electric motor Show, sporting body modifications to meet US regulations and a fresh 4.7 L twin supercharged V8 engine motor capable of producing 811 PS (596 kW; 800 horsepower) at 7000 rpm and 920 N?m (679 lb?foot) at 5700 rpm of torque while operating on 91 octane gas. There have been 49 CCX-Series cars produced between 2006 and 2010 (30 CCX, 9 CCXR, 6 CCX/CCXR Model, 2 CCXR Special Model and 2 CCXR Trevita). One of these was a CCX used for Crash lab tests and one is still a stock test car. CCX cars have later been improved to be CCXR-spec.
