The Koenigsegg CCX is a mid-engined sports car built by Koenigsegg Automotive AB. The task began with the purpose of making a worldwide car, designed and manufactured to comply with global safe practices and environment rules, particularly to enter america car market. To sell cars in america many modifications were designed to the design of the CCR; the used Ford Modular engine motor was replaced by the Koenigsegg engine designed to run on 91 octane energy, readily available in the United States, and to meet up with the Californian emission expectations. The name CCX is an abbreviation for Competition Coup? X, the X commemorating the 10th anniversary (X being the Roman numeral for ten) of the completion and try of the first CC vehicle in 1996.
The CCX was launched at the 2006 Geneva Engine Show, showing off body changes to meet US laws and a fresh 4.7 L twin supercharged V8 engine with the capacity of producing 811 PS (596 kW; 800 hp) at 7000 rpm and 920 N?m (679 lb?ft) at 5700 rpm of torque while jogging on 91 octane fuel. There were 49 CCX-Series automobiles produced between 2006 and 2010 (30 CCX, 9 CCXR, 6 CCX/CCXR Model, 2 CCXR Special Edition and 2 CCXR Trevita). One of them was a CCX used for Crash assessments and one continues to be a factory test car. CCX vehicles have later been upgraded to become CCXR-spec.
