The Koenigsegg CCX is a mid-engined sports car built by Koenigsegg Automotive AB. The project began with the aim of making a global car, designed and designed to comply with global safety and environment rules, particularly to get into the United States car market. To market cars in the US many modifications were designed to the look of the CCR; the previously used Ford Modular engine unit was replaced with a Koenigsegg engine made to operate on 91 octane gasoline, readily available in america, and to meet the Californian emission specifications. The name CCX can be an abbreviation for Competition Coup? X, the X commemorating the 10th anniversary (X being the Roman numeral for ten) of the conclusion and try of the first CC vehicle in 1996.
The CCX was unveiled at the 2006 Geneva Electric motor Show, showing off body adjustments to meet US rules and a fresh 4.7 L twin supercharged V8 engine motor capable of producing 811 PS (596 kW; 800 hp) at 7000 rpm and 920 N?m (679 lb?ft) at 5700 rpm of torque while jogging on 91 octane gas. There have been 49 CCX-Series automobiles produced between 2006 and 2010 (30 CCX, 9 CCXR, 6 CCX/CCXR Release, 2 CCXR Special Release and 2 CCXR Trevita). One of these was a CCX used for Crash checks and one continues to be a stock test car. CCX vehicles have later been improved to become CCXR-spec.
