The Koenigsegg CCX is a mid-engined sports car built by Koenigsegg Automotive AB. To market cars in america many modifications were designed to the design of the CCR; the previously used Ford Modular engine motor was replaced by a Koenigsegg engine designed to operate on 91 octane energy, readily available in the United States, and to meet the Californian emission benchmarks.The name CCX is an abbreviation for Competition Coup? X, the X commemorating the 10th anniversary (X being the Roman numeral for ten) of the conclusion and test drive of the first CC vehicle in 1996.
The CCX was unveiled at the 2006 Geneva Motor unit Show, wearing body modifications to meet US restrictions and a new 4.7 L twin supercharged V8 engine unit with the capacity of producing 811 PS (596 kW; 800 horsepower) at 7000 rpm and 920 N?m (679 lb?feet) at 5700 rpm of torque while operating on 91 octane fuel. There have been 49 CCX-Series automobiles produced between 2006 and 2010 (30 CCX, 9 CCXR, 6 CCX/CCXR Model, 2 CCXR Special Edition and 2 CCXR Trevita). One of these was a CCX used for Crash testing and one continues to be a factory test car. CCX vehicles have later been upgraded to be CCXR-spec.
